I called the LARA office and spoke to a woman on the phone and asked her a few questions. According to her, they will accept old paperwork so long as the doctors signature is before April 1st. They will be sending 2 year cards to anyone who has a certified mail date on or after April 1st. If you mailed out before the first, you will get a one year card. After April 1st = two year card. Most of my folks that were certified at the end of March/beginning of April are getting their cards now. Good news is that contrary to what we were told, even those with the old paperwork are at least sometimes getting 2 year cards instead of the one year cards. Might depends on who processes the application at the state.
