How long does pollen take to interact with pistils?

This is not a breeding question. I am using bag seed's, with proper environment, no light leaks & I still got hermies. I read that if you don't want to trash your hermi, your best bet is to remove the pollen sacks as you see them. I searched a lot, but somehow missed one that may have been open for a bit. Gently lifting a leaf made powder come out . Had to buy a new spray bottle, so it sat on the pistils guarnteed for about 30 minutes. My first reaction was to spray distilled water over the flowers under & near the pollen sack. Would this work or was it on to long? Thanks.

Ive only ever had early pollen sacs. I was lucky and no more appeared. If the plant is a full on herm you are better off chopping.
Pistils are sticky to catch the pollen. You will have some seeds. Not a big deal.
Spraying water may help.

Almost instantly. Whatever got jizz on it is probably now knocked up. You did good with the water as wet pollen doesn't stick and it may have knocked some off, but you'll have some seeds where it touched.

Unfortunately, there's going to be more. So.. Just do the best you can to remove them if you want to harvest it without a million seeds.

That said, if you have any others you don't want pollinated, move it.

Also,be aware that pollen can remain viable for a long time so clean your grow space well before the next round.
