I have been on 12/12 for 5 weeks and have done lst training. I have 3 plants that are showing alot of bud sites. How long before I harvest these babies? They are just bag seed.

I will see if I can get some, I dont really like to post photos for obvious reasons. I am not sure what kind it is, I just got the seeds out of a bag of some decent stuff I had.

You are most likely about half way there give or take a little. A guess without pics.

I think you should flower until I show up for samples.....
No honestly Indicas typically flower for about 8 weeks or so.
Sativas are slightly longer, and can take upto 12 weeks even.
Peace

Flowering can take anywhere from 7-12 weeks. It depends on your conditions. The BEST way to know when your plants are ready is to buy at least a 30x microscope and take a peak at the trichomes (crystals). Videoman told me about a good cheap one at Radio Shack. Only $10 and works great! Here is a link to the microscope. RadioShack.com - Cables, Parts & Connectors: Tools & soldering equipment: Magnifiers: Illuminated Microscope

Below is a picture of when to harvest going by the trichomes. Good luck!

Paulio, that's a good general guide, but it's a little misleading and incomplete.

You need to differentiate between 'clear amber' trichome spheres and 'cloudy amber' ones, because they're not the same.

Most varieties go through the stages you've described - clear > cloudy > cloudy amber > dark brown. Which is essentially the THC in the trichome spheres slowly decomposing down into CBN which is the Cannabinoid responsible for that 'couchlock' affect.

However, some varieties - mostly Sativa's and Sativa doms do not follow that process and follow this one - clear > amber clear > cloudy brown. The clear amber stage is effectively the same as the cloudy stage in other varieties, but the cloudy amber stage is not the same as the clear amber stage.
