How long until male flowers open after 12/12 flip?

RIU,

Help me out. If growing in hydro after the 12/12 flip I understand it takes about 6-12 days to determine sex. But how long does it take for male flowers to develop and drop pollen? The reason I ask is the I'm not sure if a female plant is trying to grow male flowers. I know this is rare if grown in proper conditions but I don't wanna risk getting my ladies prego. They were not showing sex prior to the flip. If anyone has any legit advice please reply.

Unless you leave them alone for many days, you will be able to snatch any males long before they open up and spew pollen.

If you give pics, someone should be able to tell you whether or not it's male or female, and maybe solve your problem right there.

I appreciate the response but I'm still new to RIU and trying to figure it out. Honestly you can barely see anything with the naked eye. I had to use a scope 60X to see them. The tops have nice white pistils coming from the upside down teardrops but the lower nodes just look funny to me. I guess I was just wondering because I can't post decent pics yet in general how long can a male stay in the female flower room. I swear using trusted clones is much easier but everybody's gotta start somewhere right. Once again thank you both.

The pistils show first up top. They probably just aren't developed as much on the bottom yet, not necessarily Hermie.

Can you pick a cluster of balls off at 1 week in flower, Would the pollen still be viable or does it need time to mature?

If its dropping pollen then its viable my friend.
And op, youll be fine just keep an rye on them and if they look like balls cut then off, or toss it your call. But i will say once you see the vigor and yield from a good seedling youll see why some people choose seed over clone (plus usually a better yield unless the clone is blue dream or some other standout)

males usually show sex first.. there usually taller more gangly looking, but also unfortunently in many cases ur most vigourous plants.... plants show sex from like 5 days after 12/12 indoors with some strains taking has long has 3 weeks to show sex.. some tropical sativas will take even longer.. the first pollin sacks that u will notice on a male plant will take about 7-14 days for most to spill there pollin dpending on how far along they were before u noticed they were males

MALES grow nuts / sacs ... they will begin to swell then split in about 2 weeks like this one.
