I have two areas. One veg thats a drip system in a 2'x4' tray emptying into a doubled up rubbermaid res. I am using GH Nutes 3pt and 10gal of water. I use a stick that I marked in one gallon increments to determine how much is left and do a daily check. I usually add another gallon when it gets a gallon low.
How low do most successful growers let the res go before adding more water?
I will soon be cloning and moving the vegging plants into a flood/drain flower room, using a 3'x3' tray and hydroton with net pots containing plants in Rockwool surrounded by hydroton in the pots as they presently exist in the veg room. I will let the clones veg and flower the more mature plants, getting rid of any that turn male. I will be using a larger doubled up rubbermaid in the flowering room and use 20gal of solution. I plan on creating a marked stick to measure the res using 5gal marks up to 15gal and then going in one gal increments from 15-20.
How low should I let this res get before adding more water?
My 10gal res typically uses a half to a gallon a day. I expect the flood/drain will use even more per day.
