How many cancer causing compounds are in a joint?

I think this is the right place to post this I looked on the internet a bit and couldnt find anything. I'm interested because me and a friend were in a debate weather smoking a cigarette is worse then smoking a joint. I know that a jooint is said to have 33% more tar in it but I also read this.

"Cigarette smoke contains over 4,000 chemicals, including 43 known cancer-causing (carcinogenic) compounds and 400 other toxins"

So I would like to know if anyone could atleast point me in the right direction to find out how many different cancer-causing compounds are in a joint. Thanks.

Well im not really sure, but I believe weed is natural and when you dont spin it with tobacco. I personally hate cigarettes and tabacco because they dont give u a good time or anything, all they give u is cancer. But anything that burns and you inhale it into your lungs is bad. But weed all the way!!!!!

the problem isnt the weed, its the paper being burned. esp. white papers, which are bleached to be white. so in order to combat your friend, ask him if you were to have the same papers, which would have more carcinogens, weed or tobacco.

I read somewhere that the tar factoid only applies when you're smoking the leaves, whereas any sensible pot smoker generally smokes the BUD, seeing as that is where the main concentration of THC is.

theyve got a product out there that i heard on marijuana radio (podcast on itunes very fun to listen to)..theres this weird thing that you put on your piece and it takes alot of tar out of the weed..when you take one hit you can see all the shit in the cotton or whatever it is..but weed is definatly better than tobacco.,reasently they found in marijuana that it kills some cancer cells
