hey guys... about to flower using cfls... i was wondering how many 42 watt cfls i would need to get a decent yield off of 5 papaya females in dwc bin.... looking for most inexpensive route.. was thinking of getting splitters and putting them on surge protectors:wall::bigjoint::fire:

Depends how big they are. When I used CFL's I used spliters(Y adaptors) too so i could do 2 bulbs on one sockect. You wanna get light all around the plants. So get alot of them if there big plants.

I would say 400 watts for 5 large-ish plants. So 8-10 42w. Clamp lights work well for positioning them. Make sure you are getting mostly 2700k spectrum bulbs.

You need 3000 lumens per sq ft of grow space, at bare minimum. 5000 lumens is better and you will need at least 5000 lumens per sq ft to get some tight buds.

A CFL puts out 60 to 65 lumens per watt, so do the math.
