i have a 4x4 but i will be putting a 100watt led and use the space to grow a mother in them i will eventually add another 100-200 watts to veg clones in beside .

but im wondering about light distance with 100watt led how many lux should i focus on im using an app as a rough guide up close its 38k lux about 12" above canopy its about 7k

im wondering will a 100watt led be enough and how far away should i hang the light.. i am aiming for a bit of stretch and then bush out at the top but am hoping the 100 watt will be enough for a good turnover of clones every 6 weeks or so

This may be the answer you are trying to get, the way I do it, if you have a luxmeter, take a reading from the sun (outside on a sunny day) and get the reading mother nature uses to grow. With that reading in mind, run the luxmeter upward and downward under the indoor light and find which depth under the light replicas the reading you got from the sun.

38000 is fine. If it stretches too much raise the LUX a bit.

100w LED is good for about 3 or 4 sq ft, 300w for 16 sq ft is only 18.75w sq ft, not enough in my mind, 550w would be more like it. (IMO)

My 4X4 flower tent has 750w HPS and the 4X9 veg tent is running 1,600w LED

So IMO you'll need more light.

Good luck

How Much Light Do Your Cannabis Plants Require?
Roughly, the lux ranges below are best suited to their corresponding stage of the growing cycle:

Clone and seedling stage: 5,000–7,000 lux

Vegetative stage: 15,000–50,000 lux

Flowering stage: 45,000–65,000 lux

Yeah i dont advise this, cannabis has different light requirements through it's lifecycle from seedling, early veg and so on to late flower. So whatever the lux (or length of daylight) is outside on any given day has no bearing on what is right for the OP's requirements.
