How many more week do you think these plants need?

Please excuse the wet plants. It rained this morning/last night.

Just trying to to gauge how many more weeks these need.

OG kush (mostly white tricoms, a few clear, a few amber on the leaves):


Another OG kush:


White Widow (mostly white tricoms, a few amber out on the leaves):


blackberry kush (all white tricoms, a few amber here and there):

They look ready, the second pic might need a little more time. Trichomes will always be white unless amber. Cloudy is the key . For me they look done based off of the pics look like the buds to the touch will feel hard and dry.

Thanks bro. Should I wait for more amber if the weather holds and I don't have mold? I've been told 30-50% amber in the past but it seems everyone has their own preference.

By white I meant cloudy. I see clear, milky white/cloudy (like I can't see thought it) and or course the amber is easy to spot.

They definitely feel hard. The tops do anyways. The lower stuff I plan to leave out a while longer. I hate trimming that half finished popcorn anyways.

That OG in the second pic gets a bit less sun so she's got smaller buds. I'll give her some more time to swell and hopefully I'll be able to drag her to a more sunny spot once I pulls few others down.

I like mine to be cloudy and not a ton of amber. But I am also not one who loves couch lock, so go figure.

I don't like too much either. Do they put on any more weight as they get amber or is it just a matter of ripeness at that point?

I Don't have a solid opinion on percentage of amber. I think 30-50 percent seems high to me. But I have read even some of the big growers say that. Maybe because their plants are so big in order for most of the plant to be ready the tops have to be that. I smoke to get rid of anxiety , back pain , and for sleep so the couch lock thing is for me so I used to think a lot of amber was good. With more reading and some from Sub Cool, Amber is a degradation of THC and maybe not a desirable ? CBD is genetic and takes care of the above described not the ripening of the flower. I have noticed though the terpenes (smell) are stronger earlier in ripening from cloudy to just getting some amber. I like 10% and take the tops first and let the rest mature .

You should be able to see them fatten up daily as they get close to going cloudy or the last few weeks of the strain's flowering time. I mean you can really tell. Then they get this grey tint to them (cloudy) and that's when I start checking. I would say After amber has showed up there is not much more swelling going to happen. When I stop noticing swelling I'm checking Trichs.

The window (sativa) and OG's can take longer for sure but you would scope them.

Thanks fellas. I'll give everything a thorough look over in the morning with my loupe and see where they stand. Maybe start pulling some tops over the next few days.

It's a good thing my buddy pointed out that I was counting weeks wrong. I thought I had another 2-4 weeks. I do have one sativa dominant white widow that for sure needs another 4 weeks.

It will be nice to be able to pull in stages this time around. Last year I pulled everything at once. Not only was it a pain in the balls but I quickly ran out of room for drying and was stuck with about a pound of small half finished lower buds.

LOL. counting weeks is another good question or another story. Unless how you counted on the calendar as far as a new week or finished week. The breeders start counting from flip. I count when I can see the first signs of flower. If I went by the Breeders time frame from the flip indoors it's not even close to being finished. Maybe cause they do their stats from hydro ?

I was counting calendar weeks from when I saw pistils. My OG is supposed to be 10 weeks from flip indoors in soil according to my buddy who gave me the strain. He pointed out that he doesn't see pistils till around day 20-25 so I was maybe 2-3 weeks off. It's ok I was just using his numbers as a rough gauge.

Strange, You should be able to see pistils in the tops from a week and a half to two weeks after flip. That's when I start counting.

Huh. Not sure. Maybe he's counting wrong too. Lol. With a bit more experience I'm sure ill be able to spot "done" from across the yard.

ya resin is weight the later they go to a point the heavier buddy but risk mold and like tws says the harvest window is small most growers miss it.
