how many plants can i optimally grow with a 400 w hps/mh light

Im going to be purchasing a growlight.. probably the one from HTG supply.. with the MH conversion bulb.. and i was just wondering.. wouldnt that be more than enough lighting for a grow of say 2-3 plants?? how many plants maximum do you think i could grow sufficiently under that lighting? thanks for any insight. =)

400 watts is plenty for 2-3 plants. Depending on the space I'd say you could grow 4-5 no problem at all.

I've grown 7 females (all were about 1 ft.) under a 400w HPS no problem.

thanks for your advice guys =) thats plenty. I'd love to grow about 4 to 5 at a time and that seems very possible with a 400 whps =D

Using the SOG method you can put 9 in there, just use about 3.3 square feet of growing space and see whatever you can fit in there, that surface seems optimal for 400W. Depending on how many plants you will have, u will need more or less veg time.
