How many plants in a 5x3 sog style

I'm fairly new to growing, this will be my first time with reg plants (first 2 grows were autos) I have a 5x3 stacked room that I built, the bottom veg/ clone room has a 4ft 8 bulb t5 and the top flower room has a 600 watt hps. I'm using AN sensi grow/ bloom in pro mix bx soil. I just put 5 clones in the flower room in 2 gallon pots and they are about 7 inches tall. My question is would I be ok putting about 10-12 of them in there or would that be too much? Growing mazar x white rhino by the way. Thanks for all the advice in advance

I want to do a sog style grow so I can Harvest every couple weeks as apposed to growing 1 big monster in there and have to wait 3 months for another harvest. I'd like to get a zip per plant just curious on how others have done it and what you guys results were

Well we are growing in different mediums I'm running my new 4'x2' aero setup with 16 clones but with sog it don't matter what style grow you have its about the spacing. If you have all 5'x3' to grow with run it at least 1 plant per sq ft. You should have 15 in there and with the 600hps you should be able to get 1/2 O to a full Oz per plant no problem as long as you have no probs. I ran just 3 clones last grow just as a test and got 86g dried and cured. That was with no topping or trimming. Just let the plants do what they will unless they bush really bad.

Sounds good man. Do you think the final height of the plants will e around 14-16" if they are starting out around 6-7"? Do you think I can get away with letting them get closer to 10" before flipping and still get that many in there? Thanks

I mean honestly you can fit them but how long are you vegging? If your doing like a 3 week veg from seed I'd say do 1 gallon pots for 12 of them but if your going for bigger plants you couldn't fit 12 . Also consider that in order for you plants to grow that soil needs to be ... Moist . So wall to wall moisture isn't a good thing.

I'm using 2 gal pots and i veg the clones for about 2 weeks in a solo cup after they show roots in the rock wool. They are only 6-7" when the go into flower room.

I'm really just trying to find out how many plants I can fit in there and how big I can let them get to get the most out of my space without it being to over crowded. I know i could probably do 3 good sized plants in there and pull 3-4 oz per plant but I'm trying to avoid the wait time in between that's why I'm going for a lot of small plants. Any more opinions info or suggestions are welcome. Thanks guys

Well when I ran my test run with clones they got to bout 24" but they were kinda tall and skinny, that much just depends on the strain your running. If it's a mostly indica strain they will be a lil shorter but will bush out more so you will have to do a lil trimming to keep them uniform to the size you need. Don't top just take out unneeded side branches and some fan leaves. Transplant the clones, wait 2 days, switch to flowering and just run 10 if your concerned with size but you should have no problems.

Do 8 plants homie...2 gal should be fine. Look up some training techniques to get the most out of each plant, make sure it's an 8 week strain and you habe yourself a plant of dank every week! May not be an oz per plant at first but the yeild will come with time/practice

Good luck!

Ok so today is day 12 of flower and I have 5 in there. I had some side branches that I removed on the bottom third of the plant. They are easy a ft tall now. Did I screw myself by cutting those bottom branches today? I'm trying to get a single cola style? I have 8 rooted clones on deck that I plan on putting in there in 3 days. So that will make it exactly 2 weeks behind. If I knew how to post pics I would show you guys

you will need a vegg box to do this (perpetual harvest). how many really depends on the pot size. try using square pots all the same height so when you water it will make it easier. I use 2 1/2 gal. 8" square pots work well for clones and bigger plants.

I have a separate veg groom where my mothers and clones are. It is light by a 4ft 8 bulb t5. I would like to get my hands on some square pots but they are a little hard to come by where I live. Thanks for the info

I found mine at a hydro store. you don't need that much soil with clones. a gal should be enough with a short vegg period. 1-2 weeks.

So should I flower them in the 1 gal square pots? How do my plants look so far to you? Do they look like they will produce a half oz? Do you trim the bottom part like I did or was that a fuck up on my part? Sorry for all the questions I just have a lot of clones ready to go and I'm trying to get it half dialed in. I wish I could wait till these were done flowering and then I would know what I did or didn't do right

1 gal is fine IMO. depending on the strain 1/2 oz isn't out of the question. it all depends how long you vegg and how many bud sites.

SAM_0931.jpgthis is a clone that vegged for 2 weeks after rooting. this pic is at 7 weeks flower so 9weeks old. it will probably do 3/4 - 1oz. when she is done.

Thanks a lot man. I've been reading for the past 2 days about guys and their yields with 1 gal. Sounds like a good move considering my clones only veg for a week or two after they root. This way less pro mix, more plants and more bud. 15 1 gal pots gets me 7.5 oz every month I'd be happy with that. I'm working on starting a journal eventually I hope everyone has just as much good advice as I'm getting now
