How many plants should I grow under my 4(1k) lights?

  • The room in feet is: 14.5length 10width and 9tall.
    I have 4 1000w digital ballasts air cooled with ducting.
    4 4x6 trays in the 4 corners of the room.
My last grow I used coco 7 gallon smart pots with 9 in each tray. I am not really happy with the yield I am getting off this combination though

It might have been the strain, or the number of the plants and the size vegged.

Anyway I am wondering what size pots and how many plants is your guys sweet spot? What would you recommend? I like using Coco

I would recommend 12, 3 ft plants spaced 18". Keep your air cooled reflector close. The large xxxlarge refelctors can be places as close as 6" while the really small refelctors need at least 12"
 
I think having,your lights in different corners is hurting you. You could get alot of useful cross lighting by putting those 4 trays together in the center of the room.
 
thats a good point too! Im making light distance charts on a lumenaire today which is the same thing as your cool sun. i'm just going to guess 10". but 6 rows by 8 deep with a small walkway to split the 6 rows in half so you have some access. not sure how your 4 x 6 trays will work.
