I was just looking for some 4 bulbs and ended up just ordering new Hydrofarm Agrobrites in 220V
Despite what the folks in the led section seem to believe - T5 is definitely not dead or going anywhere

Higher than 3k. I've used 5k with success.
I agree. Be careful spending too much on old tech. My local craigslist is full of peeps dumping ho t5s cheap.

6500K is the go to for Veg with T5
T5 may be old tech but the "new tech" still seems to be incapable of beating it in the plant morphology department on many plant varieties.
Have you seen my lettuce thread? I may have to re-spark that with some new test grows. I have been interested in the "T5 replacement" LED tubes but after searching the internet for hours still can't find any documented growing with them on plants larger than micro-greens.

I agree they work well. They have their pros and cons.

Yes, CMH is a definite winner too for larger plant veg. It's those damn low clearance rack systems that make things difficult lol
I love my 600W Ushio MH's too. Great lights but T5 seems to win out for starting seeds and keeping young plants more even in canopy height.
Do you have any experience with the direct replacement T5 Led tubes?
This is the model I'm looking at, maybe a couple years old, and they need new bulbs: Hydrofarm Agrobrite Designer T5 432W 4' 8-Tube Fixture.
My other option is running three Viparspectra 600 led's that I have access to. These would draw slightly less wattage from the wall (260w each), and they have a switch for blurple or full spectrum. I've used these before and they work well. But I've heard so much good about T5 for veg, and they produce less heat. Not sure which way to go...
