How much crowding is ok?

So I am growing in a limited space and being greedy and lucky I planted a crap ton and plants and got mostly females. So I have 2 larger plants with buds on them, both topped so they are growing more outward. Like I rookie I cut the shade leaves off both my mature plants thinking it would make them focus on bud production, I have since been corrected though. So those 2 are smaller but I am getting a lot of young plants growing up fast and have more on the way.

I need to know how much crowding is too much. I mean is it ok if the plants are close enough to touch as long as I am rotating them under the light every day or so and giving them good air movement?

Have you created a SHADE FARM?

Then you are probably too crowded....

I crowd mine but they are all lollipops... 1/2 to 3/4 oz each and you can cram up to 4 lollipops/sqft...

How did you get them to grow like that? Are those just branches off larger plants? Do you have any more pics of what they are in?

I trim my plants for SOG (sea of green) Single Cola, Al B. Fuct style...

They are clones that went to flower as soon as they had roots...ZERO VEG...

I trim the lower 3rd of the plant and anything that grows more than 1"...

Repeat at week 3...

But my set up is ebb/flow... almost an exact copy of A; B. Fuct's system, which can be found .. here... Get a harvest every 2 weeks

Nope, I am not crowded at all...

I could have one more plant per square foot in there before even giving it a thought....

As we speak I am sitting on 2 adult female plants with buds on them, topped off at about 2 feet tall (I only have about 3 feet from the floor to the bottom of the light fixture). I also have about 8 plants, 6" tall each, about 5 are confirmed female and checking daily for sex on the rest. They also have about 3 female clones just put into the flowering side. On top of all that I also have about 15-20 seedling putting on their first set of "real" leaves (the leaves with the classic structure). Off the 2 flowering plants I have about 4 clones in the grow side for mothers and cut about 8 more clones last night.

I had looked over the 2 week harvest guide and I know I want to do a continuous harvest, I just didn't know much about the mechanics of it.

Yeah those fuckers grew a lot more than I thought they were going to.

No offense taken - + rep to you. I'm wondering - why would you want a canopy so sparse that so much light is being wasted?

The majority of that cluster fuck is one plant that has been trained horizontally.

It's amazing that the T5s are doing so well with such a dense canopy. It takes a lot of work to keep them tied down off of the lights.

The key to getting away with this is ventilation. This is in a small box like 2' x 3' x 4'. I run a 4" centrifugal fan that I think is rated at like 400 cfm and then that crappy little 6" fan you see buried behind all that shit.

You also need to make sure that your lights are very close to get into the canopy.

If humidity gets too high, I'll put some desiccant right in front of the intake. That helps keep it dry in there by removing moisture from the incoming air.

My "Crowded House" 7 girls White Widow (tall, back left), 2 Blueberry (short, right side) and 4 of an unknown strain of bagseed (front left) in Waterfarms under T5's.

I drew some red lines where i SHOULD cut as well? If i cut all these branches off that are longer then 1 in. I will just have basically the main stem ( hopfully thats what i want?)

I am an advocate of 1x 600 hps per 4x4 tray...

But Al B. Fuct uses 2x 1000 hps for 4 trays... and a 400 for the moms...

I am going to be trying this out tonight, the trimming I mean. I have about 5 plants that I grew from seeds in 12/12 to sex them quick. They are about a foot and a half tall and while they are showing sex they are also still growing a bit. I am going to snip those guys, use the good stems as clones and start the lollypop idea. Of my 2 plants right now I really don't think I am getting much since all the buds are tiny and the thing takes up about a circular foot.
