how much does the soil count?

as for yield? i have been using "gardener&bloom" potting soil. it seems a good texture. i add a bit more peralite. anyway, i use mostly 3 gal tall pots. and i dont think im getting the yield i should. i just pulled 1.5 oz off one lemon skunk. and usually get from 1.5- 2.0 per plant, regardless of strein. i ounce got 3.5 oz off 5 bc gods. each. and i only had a 600 watt. i used both foxfarms, and now flora nova. no diff. i spread my used soil in my veg garden outside. it really helps there. can anyone reccomend a different potting soil? i dont want to use non soil, as this will ruin my "disposal" method. lol. i been paying like 8.95 a 2 cu ft bag. i have put some plants in 5 gal pots. no difference. lol. foxfarm soil is a bit spendy. and i hear not what it used to be. when my hortilux bulb is a year old in early feb, im replaceing it with a sunmaster. oh. when i got the 3.5 off the gods, under a 600, i only had the five undeer the light. now, i have up to ten, albeit with a 1000..

You need everything if you want the best yield man.
You can have the "Best" soil ever invented, but if you don't have light, or nutes, or temps, you can still have a shit yield.

if there is a local ornamental nursery close by, check to see if they mix soil themselves. i found some awesome soil this way. GL
