i was going to use 4 200watt cfl full spectrum on four plants how much heat would these lights produce and is that enough light for them to produce a good yield?:?::leaf:

They shouldnt produce very much heat at all. I say you can almost never have too much light so get some more and receive better results.

600w of cfl puts off about the same heat as a 600w hps. watts=heat. change that all to 800w.

i personally grow with CFL's i have 2x65watt 3x14watt and 2x27watt mostly 6500k cool daylight. i can say the cfls from 65watts and up actually do let off abit of heat just not asmuch as HID lights. dude thats a decent amount of light u got there . ive grown 1plant with 1/100watt cfl nicely. aslong as your grow space isnt a closet or anything then heat shouldnt be a problem, but if your like me growing in a closet well my temps reach 38 degrees celcius doors closed

im going to assume you mean actual watts. we have a few problems though.......what do you consider a good yeild? how much venting and air flow is their through the grow area? how many plants do you want to grow? how big is the growspace itself? cfls can put out quite a bit of heat.

okay so obviously with cfl's you arent going to be able to grow your plant to its full potential. but you can get a very good yield with cfl's. if you are going to grow with cfl's than you should look into low stress training (tie down method). it makes a world of difference on how much bud you will get. i think that anyone growing with any light should train their plants. honestly it makes a night and day difference. as for heat... you arent going to have to worry too much about it. depending on how warm you keep your house is the only thing that matters in this case. keep the cfl's as close to the plant as possible, but not touching. if heat becomes an issue, than a single fan blowing on the lights and plants will take care of any cfl heat problem. but if your house is generally cooler, you shouldnt need anything. a fan is a good idea anyways though, because the breeze on the plants helps develop a strong stock. good luck and have fun! its a learning expierance and if this is your first grow, than just relax and research as much as you can. i always enjoy learning new things about growing cannabis as i am sure you do too!!
