How often do you change your carbon filter?

Depends on environment. Dust clogs them up. Fan noise gets way louder. Smells will be absorbed until the activated carbon is too weak to perform. You will notice more scents, or your neighbors will notice.

Oh that’s dirty lmao^^^
I wash my pre filter every couple months. My last filter only made it about 18 months before my house started to smell. But it was a cheap one from Amazon.

I use a foothill filter, handmade with removable plug to refill.

refilled before this run with 12x40 mesh (water filter carbon) instead of 4x8 mesh. exhaust airflow is lower, as expected, but filters much better. odor reduction improved vs 4x8 mesh

I got tired buying filters and baking carbon , I just vent out the window in flower, but my nearest neighbor is an acre away
I’m in a similar situation with an acre away I don’t filter exhaust and my neighbors frequently comment on the smell of my outdoor. Fortunately they’re cool with everything but you may be surprised how far it travels

They will start smelling somewhat sour is the only way I can explain it. That's how I know for sure it's time. I would say if you use it continually in a flower room with dank 1.5 years will be when you want to change it to make sure you avoid that sour smell. This would be very important to me if I was in a very urban area.

oh yes indeed,,, i stand on my back deck or out by the barn a good 200 feet away and the wind will bring it across my nose,, such a lovely smell,, and inside my house it doesnt smell and that keeps the wife happy,, she said as long as i dont stink up the house i can grow

Anyone Re use thier Carbon????? when i was using carbon filters i got used to taking the ends off the filters,, washing the carbon clean and then baking the carbon in an oven to reactivate it,, and reload the filters,, you can re use your carbon over and over this way

I hear ya. Atleast the cats and yotes should be somewhat beneficial in the fact they control a ton of things that are a threat to crop like rodents, rabbits etc and not as prone to digging and grubbing like skunks
