How quickly can a male plant pollinate a female?

I have clones flowering to test the sex of the parent plants, but the clones are struggling nearly two weeks in (i'm changing the cloning setup for the next time around) and the parent plants are getting too big (40+ inches). I am thinking of putting all the parent plants into the flowering room and pulling the males out at the first signs of seeding.

Will doing this mess up the female plants (pollinate them), even if I pull the males at first sign of seed?

Can a male plant pollinate a female plant even before it starts showing it's sex after they have been moved to 12/12? Thanks!

if u do this check them at least daily and first signs of a male get it away from rest ASAP

It may be different for different strains, but when I grew out some males to collect pollen, it was in the neighborhood of 2 weeks before the pollen sacks were mature enough to pop on their own and drop their dust on the leaves. You should have a minimum of several days between confirming it as male, and it being able to knock up your girls. Just be diligent and examine them daily, then as soon as you're sure you have a boy, remove it. If you have a space (far from the girls) to grow out a male, you can collect pollen to selectively seed just a bud or two. This will allow you to make a supply of free seeds without your whole grow being compromised. I got 27 seeds from dabbing just one bud, so I was able to save the purchase price of nearly 3 packs of beans - of course, I'm talking of creating good Dutch quality stuff and not crappy bagseed. Lol

Glad to be of help Chronic... Those male pollen sacks will look like a cluster of tiny grapes at first, although they can start as a singular pod that looks very much like a female preflower. That is why you want to give it some time to show definitively male or female. If you see hairs, you're good - if they begin to multiply into clusters, it is certainly a boy. The pods will grow on a stalk that eventually lets them hang when they gain enough weight through growth and pollen. They'll puff up some just before they burst and drop their dusty yellow load in hopes of reaching a girl in flower. Sounds like I'm writing a porno here...LOL

Anyway, chop or isolate them before you see the balls in a hanging position. You will be able to tell its a boy long before it reaches that maturity level.

I harvest the pollen for furture project, where mix with flour 5 to 1 ratio kinda looks as cake batter. And i freeze it will last good while i have fresh f2 Humbolt pollen
