Does RIU record IP addresses? Do they have any interaction with law enforcement? has RIU given law enforcement any information..ever? If I post a grow on here am I going to get a knock on the door because I posted here? Be honest...
i love this forum, lurked her for a long while, i have grown more years than most of you have been alive. Legitimate questions, and what most of you think about while posting less than legal content, depending laws an locations of course.

how safe is it to post here?

Here some general information

Forums register IP adresses for each post for moderation and user management purposes.
This is generally stored in the forum database.

When it comes to information request by law enformcement (ie IP adresses/usernames):
Generally, the law of the country where the forum host server is located applies.
And only by a court order of that country are websites owners obliged to hand over information. (no matter where the owner lives or currently is, the host will hand it over if need be)

Exceptions being if you post stuff that seems to break international laws.

It just matters who holds the information and whos requesting they get it handed over and how/why.

No court paper? just say no; as with cops doing a house call, they can ask if they may check your house, but without a court order you can say nay.

If your unsure, use a proxy or apply other IP changin measures.
If your paranoid, dont post activites considered criminal in your country.

ps on registration, the used ip at the time gets registered too.

That is what I didn't want to hear. Why would i, or anyone post here without not worrying getting fucked? i registered at McDonald's IP just to post this.

I just post here to be sociable and discuss horticulture-based subjects... what's a cannabis plant? I grow hydroponic lettuce. Any mention by me of cannabis or cannabis plants is purely theory, or my 39th voice talking.

I believe the server is located in England from what I can tell.

But, tbh, for growing some weed, even if you have dosens of plants, I dont think law enforcment will go through the entire process just to get a couple of growers whom might have moved on or finished their cycle before they could have had an attempt to check whether or not what you posted was actually there.

I would just be somewhat carefull with what you say .... I've you go bragging about how much money your going to make selling drugs and how much massive yields in grams you made .. well .. thats like painting a huge bullseye on your ass, and honestly, thats asking for it if you dont take preventive measures.
