How tall should I let them grow before Flowering?

I've got some 10 day old babies in 24hr CFL light at the minute...my question is when would it be a good time to switch to 18/6 and also how high should I let the plants grow before switching to 12/12 for flowering? (my grow room is 1.8m high)
Thanks in advance

you will prob want them to get at least 45 - 60 days old b4 u flower.. but yea they will double or triple in size once they r in flower

It is all based on how tall you want them. A 12 inch plant will be around 20 to 36 inches, or you can top the plant and let all the side buds get bigger to keep height low. My current plant was 11 inches, put it into 12/12 and is now 30 inches, normally will grow in height for about 2 weeks(after pistols show) into 12/12 then with get side growth. I have seen zero height growth since the second week of 12/12 and showing pistols, with this and my last plant.

Take your 1.8M and subtract the distance from the floor to the top of your growing medium. Then subtract the distance from the ceiling to the bottom of your lighting when it is raised as high as it can go. Then subtract the minimum amount of distance that you need to maintain between your plant tops and your lighting.

That is how much height you have to grow in. Then figure out how tall your plants will get when they double to triple in height at whatever vegging to flowering height you were considering and see if it gives you enough room and lighting or not and then start lower or taller to make the most of what you have to work with.

there is no need to switch to 18/6 unless you want to slow down the veg growth, and dont forget that some strains will actually start to flower if you do that, its not that they will flower under 18/6 but a drop in light cycle will trigger them sometimes, generally what i do is flower indica dominant strains when they are half the size i want the finished plant to be and for more sativa dominant strains figure that they can grow 2-3 times their height in flower
