How to add water to reservoir?

I am currently running low on my first fill of the reservoir. How do i add water properly without shocking the plants?

Do i add the water then add the proper ammount of nutrients?

Also how much water is safe to add to the reservoir at one time?

you arent telling us what sort of set up your running. or the size of the reservoir(s), are they individual pots, is it flood and drain, is a large feeder reservoir?

I have a 20 gallon reservoir pumping to six plants that are about 6 inches tall. Drip system set to pump water 45min on 15min off per hour

is this drip to drain or re suc system regardless of system top up withb ph balanced water daily aslo ph flux is normal only adjust if gettn near max range as this changes from time of day sample was taken from roots/res ur plants will use water than nutes if growth is fast change res 4 days or when u added 3/4 amount water to keep it simple it may be hard for u too add daily way too easy cause imbalances leading to slow growth/lochout/ph issuses if ph spikes in a day or two increase res 4 times more than floods ur meduim is minuim i like 6-8times size more water = more buffer agaisnt ph raise/fall
