How to avoid bugs and pests

Hi everyone,

I'm brand new to growing, just got 4 plants in (clones).

I've been reading up on the forum about spider mites and other pests and as the title says - how can I avoid them?

What precautions can I take?

Sup bro.

I had a small gnat problem and I bought two CP's (carnivorious Plants), a Sundew and a pitcher plant. The problem was taken care of in one day. Sundews are helpful for spider mites and pitcher plants more so for gnats. If the problem persist, I would buy some spray but do research before you buy it.

i always clean my room after every grow (javax in a spray bottle ) then i give it a quick spray before a replant , i have a buddy that uses a sulpher burner before and after ,and it seems to work real good ,,a clean room is a happy room ,,,

spray your soil or medium with a fish oil organicide. it will help keep bugs away.

1st off welcome to the site. pests and bugs are brought in mostly by the grower. this is mostly caused from your pets. bugs and pesta live in your yard and every time your animals go outdoors the pests hitch a ride indoors. now you love and pet your loving companion and now they are crawling all over you. then when you enter your grow site wow they have took up home in the nice warm climate. 2 things you can do to prevent this from happening or strait getting outof control is 1stshower and change clothes b4 entering , or 2nd mix up a spray bottle of water and bleach. 25% bleach and 75% water and mist your selfb4 entering.

I use avamax mite free here.Been told shit like neem oil or fish oil.You will taste in your buds don't use

thanks for the replies - they were most helpful.

Up til now I've had no trouble what so ever with bugs, only some nute problems I'm trying to figure out.

I don't have any pets except 2 turtles, but they hardly ever move and I doubt they carry any bugs on them.

Here's a look at the set up. I got in 2 more clones, my babies are fine. For a first time grower I'm really happy with how things are going.
