How to mix soils?

So, I took some advice from some other guys on this forum about soil, and I got Scott's Potting Soil and Perlite.

Now, how am I supposed to mix these two together to create a good environment for my plant? DO I layer, mix, etc...

And while I'm asking, if you could help me with nutes, watering, anything else, go ahead.

I just turn them into each other well. Slowly adding a bit of perlite, then a bit of soil, so on, and so forth until you get a well mixed medium. I use around a 60:40 - soil to perlite - mix.

Well I'm sure you could get tons of advice about watering nuts and such but what exactly are you referring to be easier to help if we know the knowledge you seek

thanks guys, but I've been reading up a little, and I'm discovering that the Miracle-Gro i've been using is very acidic (5.5) and that causes plants to be more likely to be male. How do I fix this? Or does the perlite cause it to be a neutral pH mix?

I would say just to transplant them into your new mixture of soil asap and if told to flush (see that a lot) don't do it as its time release and that could make it worse and with the mg you may not even need nuts I used miracle grow my first grow had problems transplanted and they didn't need any nuts for awhile
