How to run a portable aircon

How do you guys run a portable air-conditioning in your room.s without stinking your house out?
I was thinking about putting a filter on the a/c exhaust but I think it's bad to restrict the exhaust.
I'm needing to figure out some cooling options as coming into summer here soon and it gets fucken hot.

A window unit is best if possible because it just recirculates the air inside. If you have one that vents, then you need to install a good carbon filter on your ventilation fan like a Phresh.

Don't filter the exhaust. You'll block the flow. You also do not want to extend the exhaust hose longer than what comes with it.

Portable vent outside so your sucking air from the room. You need to replace that air.
If dual hose then both go outside, not sure what happens then?Probably blow the smell all over the house lol.

I was going to add 10' to mine in my garage.Thought about adding an inline fan.

I tried that and the unit stopped working. I did some research and they say not to do that as the length of the hose they provide is the maximum length you should use. A longer hose creates back pressure and the unit can struggle to exhaust the hot air.

It didn't work with my unit but yours may function with a longer hose. I would go to a bigger size for the extension if you choose to do it.

Ya that and the hose needs to be straight or gradual curves.
Mines silly the vent comes out the bottom,so the unit has to be elevated to reach the window.

been thinking about this. maybe you can add an inline fan to the ac exhaust to help keep the pressure correct.
