My cure is just developing mold if I get it out of the container and let it breath and pick off the slight hair/mold that is starting to develop is it saveable?

Yeah. You should probably let it sit out for a few hours, or longer, because it sounds like it's a little too wet, and could dry some, before going back to curing. Also, since there was already mold starting, I'd 'burp' the containers more than once a day, more like 2-3 times.

While mold isn't very safe, you should be fine. Just don't try to sure me if you get sick from it.lol

I appreciate it, I was definitely sniffin the burbs, that is what caused me to investigate, slight hint of mold.
The interior of the stash had very little mold starting.
All the mold was on the leaves, not the buds.
So I pulled off the leaves.

Next cure I will be trimming the leaves off, seems that is where mold starts first.
Thanks

mold can spread very easily, if theres enough on leaves to worry you then id say its also in the buds, get them dry bro.

In the jar humidity was 80% at 65F.

I took the pot out of the jar and laid it out with air circulation the temp 77F the humidity dropped to 40%.

I had the pot laid out without the air circ at a temp of 55F the humidity meter was 70%.

Now I am turning the air circ back on, and trying to close a vent to build humidity from 40% to somewhere below 65%, we'll see, the temp will be 77F.

I am going through the learning curve for this whole cure thing, but it seems the humidity meter is an indespensable tool. Any points of view on this are welcome.

I'll have to check the specs on the $25 digital humidity meters, I am not sure they do any better than the cheap analog ones?
Anyone have some source references on humidity meter sensitivity/accuracy especially a comparison between the analog and $25 digitals, it would be much appreciated.

Thnx,

^Excellent idea. If I remember correctly, your weed will be at approx 10-13% moisture content, when finished. That'll put it at a level where it's too low for mold to form, yet moist enough that it dosn't crumble, from being excessively dry. Then it can be stored long-term, sealed.

I love my $6 digital temp/humidity guage from sprawl mart. I wouldn't spend $25 on one unless it was made in the USA.

If its too humid, naturally, try a space heater on low or drying near/over a heat register.
Also, not sure if this will help in your case but I knew a farmer who somehow got moldy hash and he tossed it all in his freezer. I indulged in some after a while in his freezer and never noticed a thing.

I'm gonna go ck it now. I think the mold thing was caught before it ruined the batch.
I have harvested a lot of seed from this grow which was one of my goals.
The cure thing and the whole grow thing is a learning experience which is another of my goals.
All in al I'm a little put off that I don't have the most exellent product, but there is always next time ; ).
