How to take care of a Mother? Blue Dream good for resale to patients?

I have been wanting to add Blue Dream because it is supposedly a big yielder, easy to grow and popular with "patients."

I found a Mother to clone off of for a good deal. Very healthy and good genetics.

How do you care for a mother? Leave her in perpetual veg on T5/T8s? The seller said use salt based nutes?
I read with Mothers that you have to trim the root ball to make sure she does not get root bound.

Should I buy her, run two cycles of clones and then throw her into Flower then take clones off her babies?

Problem i had with the Blue dream was her root bounding at first. She autoflowered on me after her roots filled the pot. No big deal, just cut clones and plant a new mom. Do a new one every two-three months.

Thanks Rasta Man. Did you harvest the first mom? I figured if I can get 20 or 30 clones from her I can put her in flower and then when the babies get to big veg then one can be the new mom.

Im on a very dedicated schedule so i usually dont have the room to throw random moms in, though I used to and would suggest to being blue dream is perfect for this. Shes extremely vigorous and will grow well in just about any condition in most soils given theyre somewhat balanced.She also clones extremely well

great strain for sure.

I put my moms under t5s 18/6 lighting. The moms go into my standard soil mix that all my plants go into. I use 15 gallons for the moms and it takes them a good while to outgrow their pot, Generally about 3-5 months depending on the strain.

Thanks for all the help . I got her home and the guy did a great job. She is tall and lanky in 5 lb pot. I will repot her in 15 lb tomorrow. She is in coco and perlite....and I know soil. I am not sure to just put her coco/perlite root ball into soil or stick with coco and perlite.

Thanks for T5 tip too. Any nutrients you recommend? I usually use Fox Farm Grow or General Hydroponics Grow.
I am thinking CNS 17 Grow by Botanicare because it works in soil and coco.

Im an organic gardener, meaning I dont use bottles. Back when i used to i liked botanicare. They were solid for me back then and gave me consistent results.

If youre going to be using bottles dont even bother up-potting. The reason i put my moms into such a big pot is because i rely on a microweb to feed my plants rather than chelated salts, Which means i need lots o' room. This isnt necessary when using bottled nutes as your veg nute should contain everything your plant needs to grow even after root bounding. Id keep her in the 5 gallon pot..

As far as transplanting into the coco/peat (soil)-

I wont get too far into it, but theyre two different mediums and require different things. Im not a fan of coco in organic gardening, I think its more suited for hydroponics/bottled nutes. if youre set on using bottled nutes and want to up-pot her i would suggest more coco. Save the soil (peat) for the organic heady grows.
