Ok guys I am about to start building my flowering room. But I am having a hard time deciding in getting the proper lights for my flowering room..

Ok So my room is around 18 ft x 12ft.

So right now I have 12 plants on veg that are 2 weeks old they are 15" And I am getting ready in setting up my flowering room and I will work with Soil.

Here i read that 600w HPS are better than 1000w HPS but a few growers say that 1000 is the best way to go... BUT i just went to my local store and the guy in there was like "well you can go with the old thing which are the air cooled HPS type for around 320-380 bucks with a 1000 bulb. BUT I have the Gavita Pro 1000 DE on SALE right now for $460 and this Gavita is way better than these other HPS units.... BUT they are only 220 inputs. And create alot of heat they get really hot".

So the guy seem like he was trying to just get me to buy 2 or 3 of those Gavita units. So that's why I need your guys help. I just want the best yield possible. I will be using 10 gallons containers.

My ceeling is 8 feet.

So I need to know what you guys think it would be the best way to go. I know that some units have a ballast that can dim from 400 to 600 to 1000 watts.

I am all ears/eyes guys.

Thanks for your input/help!

Id go with thousand watts just cause you got the space. 600s are more efficient in the lumens/watt category but since you have the room and probably arent going to do much training the 1000s would probably be best.

Theyre also made to be cooled so that will work. Make sure you have enough fans to keep the temps down. I wouldnt go for dimmable either cause they can cause excess wear to your bulbs.

Just keep it simple with cooltubes and high air movement.
