HPS lighting question

ok I am almost embarassed to ask this question but hopefully I can get some various opinions....I have access to (2) 175 watt HPS lights for free...would this be suitable for 3 or 4 plants to flower with vs having to layout dollars for (1) 400 watt HPS? I would think that with the (2) lights I could keep them closer to the tops due to not putting out as much heat, plus a greater flexability in directing light output. Isnt the advantage to HPS the light spectrum anyhoo?? Let me know so I can get my 400 watter on the way today if possible!

but alot of people find that multi small lamps greatly improve usable lumens versus the bulky larger lights whos total luminecence is impossible to totally harness its full potential.

lots of little lights is great for small projects.

The best solution would be the 400 for the top and the smaller guys for the sides. I mean if you can get the little ones free go ahead and get those also. You will use them in the furture. You can't have too much light (well usually).

Thanks guys! Went ahead and pulled the trigger....ordered the 400 watt HPS today. Will be here today after tomorrow I would assume.

And are you getting the freebies too?
