Yo, i have these two pimp ass 400watt lights one being HPS and the other MH. Should i use the MH light first and then switch it to HPS or vice versa, and if so when would i need to switch the lights?:joint::shock:

MH is for the vegetative stage, which you can run above the plants (6-8 inches away) for 15-18 hours. Then for the flowering stage, use the HPS for a 12/12 light cycle.

Put a MH bulb in your HPS ballast for veg and run both. Then when in flower put the HPS back in and run both MH and HPS at the same time. If in containers you can rotate your plants under each bulb for a even amount of trichs on each plant. Yes MH boosts the trich levels just a bit.

I don't think its safe to run a MH bulb in a ballast specified for HPS. You can do so with CMH retrofit bulbs, but its not safe with normal MH.

If you can run both bulbs do it, the wider spectrum is great.

Run the Phillips Ceramic Metal Halide in the HPS and run the hortilux blue in the MH. The spectrum from these two bulbs are your best choice. And use them start to finish, veg and bloom.
