HPS or MH?

As far as i understand it you should get a higher yield with the HPS option but you need a ballast with an ignitor. I'm going for as simpler a setup as possible, are the benafits of the slightly higher yield worth the extra complication.

Just get an HPS ballast(magnetic or electronic) and you can run either MH or HPS bulbs. If you want to use the CMH then you will need a magnetic HPS ballast. I use Hortilux HPS start to finish and has treated my plants well for years...

I just sent an e-mail to Lumatek to ask about SunMaster 600 watt CMH bulb compatibility with their LK-600 e-ballasts...awaiting a reply.

You want MH for vegging and hps for flowering. Get a digital ballast and two bulbs and you'll be set, don't forget to vent the heat.
