hey everyone just wanted to know can u veg using a HPS i know i should really use a MH for vegging but the lighting kits the company sells are only HPS i have sent them an email if they can change the bulb that comes with the kit to an MH so well see what they can do but i have seen grow journals were people have used HPS and everything looked fine but i read somewhere that using HPS for vegging can have consequences like streching ect but im not exactly sure that is true please all input is wanted and also if u know of any good places that are in Australia to buy hydroponic lights please tell me

I myself use a 600W HPS lighting for veg state and I can say that it is fine.

I also live in Aus and if i were you, i'd go to ur local hydroponic store and ask for a "Grow Lush" HPS bulb, these bulb's have a higher blue spectrum then your standard HPS bulb and are actually quite good for your vegitative growth. They also have a 20% higher red spectrum aswell for flowering.

hi there, you can use the hps light for vegging and flowering. you just have to adjust the height of the light to stop stretching.

if you're uber paranoid, you could get a conversion bulb which is a MH designed to run in a HPS ballast :)

expanded spectrum bulbs work too.
