Yeah HTG is the cheapest and best in my opnion I order everything from them spend your money with them there good and they got some good quality stuff to.

i love ths place so much. they just opened a new location in michigan too so i went there the other day and grabbed a 1k switchable, bulb cordset balast and big kahuna hood (price tag 200 for the hood) for $333. THEY BYFAR HAVE THE BEST DEALS. ALSO I BOUGHT A LIGHT KIT FROM THEM IN 08 AND ITS THEIR BRAND, 400 WATT HTGSUPPLY MAGNETIC BALAST AND THIS SUCKER STILL RUNS GREAT AND DOESNT GET TOO HOT.

Well just received my light but........................It won't fire up!!!! Called HTGSupply and they are sending me out another light bulb. The Ballast is humming and warming up but the light will not come on. How can I tell if it's the bulb or the ballast? The bulb itself has a smokey appearance at the bottom of the bulb, is that normal? So hopefully it's the bulb and not the ballast. Fingers crossed!

yea the smokey color is normal. thats just bad luck. i have the same exact light you just bought. its been on every day since january 09 or was it 08? im not sure lol

i have needed to replace the bulb once but that was due to my own negligence.

Ive got a 150 and a 400 watt HPS both from HTG...I get replacement bulbs from Home Depot and Loewes, little cheaper from them for the bulbs

yes i can also vouch the guys at the new michigan htg supply are pretty cool. went there for the first time last week looking for a 250 MH for my veg tent. I seen the 400 MH was only 2 dollars more! haha so i went with that why not. took it home fired it up and it works perfect cant beat 120 bucks for a 400 watt system. the store is extremely far from where i live but it was def worth the drive.

Take the bulb down to a local hardware store and see if they can't test it. I just ordered their $119.95 400w HPS system today. I paid $4 more for a slightly better light (55,000 lumins). I hope the ballast gets a little warm cause my room is cool in the summer.
