humidity domes for seedlings?

Hi there i have 2 seedlings that emerged from the surface "jiffy pellets" 3 days ago they are currently in a humidity dome under a 30 w cfl 6400 inside the humidity dome the temperature is a steady 75 F with humidity around high 50 and 60's they look really well tbh but i have a question. I can run 2 30w cfl's really close to the seedlings without the dome and temps remain at 75f but humidity i imagine will suffer and also jiffy pellets might dry alot quicker but i would have double the light for early stages is this worth it?

thanks for the reply mate just reading alot of people saying that the domes cause damping off and my plan was to leave the seedlings in the dome at those conditions until they show there 2nd set of "true leaves" then remove them from the dome.

it's a vented dome and the lids being removed quite alot as i need to check the weight of the jiffy pellets to make sure they arn't getting bone dry, it's a first grow so just wanted to check what others thought of the whole humidity dome thing and the 30 w bulb is like 4 or 5 cm away from the plant

yeah i would wait till you have those true leaves before moving them closer as babys they dont need very strong sunlight
I would say humidity and temperature are very important in the seedling stage where they are the most fragile so make sure those are on point before worrying about light levels :bigjoint:

ok, great i feel reassured with the whole dome thing i will stick to the plan i didn't wanna complicate things anyway like i said they seem well they didn't stretch too much i have a 125w cfl and 2 30 w cfl in there anyway so can increase the lights as and when they get bigger. thankyou very much lime73

thanks nuggodank at the moment the levels are within range and steady i can get huge amounts of humidity upto 77 if i spray but i wanna keep them no higher than 70 and no lower than 50 tbh and the temps are 74 f min to 76f max in the humidity dome so was happy to keep them there just didn't want damping off
