Humidity

I live in a cooler climate so I need a humidifier of some sorts. I have a 12x8 room with and ebb and flow bucket system with two 1000 watt hps. My humidity currently sits at 20%. I have the lights being cooled with an 8" inline fan so heat hasnt been an issue.

Any advice on how to get the humidity up. What size humidifier do i need? What brand? Could I make my own humidifier?

Get some pot plants. They'll bump up humidity.

seriously, i've never heard of having a low humidity problem with established plants. count your blessings. wish i had that problem....

water+heat = humidity. wait and see, you'll be in the 60-70's soon enough.

I have plants. They are pretty well established. Almost 4 weeks.

Set out a few bowls of clean water, pretty simple. I dechlorinate my feeding water in my grow room for similar reasons as needed. Or drop the fan you're using to keep the heat down and put a rag in a bowl of water in front of your circulation fan = free evaporative cooler, 2 birds with 1 stone. Either will work, or as others have said just get more plant matter in the room.

What I did was hang wet towels up over my ducting which was to scary for me so I bought a Bonaire 2 foot humidifier.. plants hit 12" and it came out due to the moisture in the soils and the towels gone to lol now im waiting on my new dehumidifier for budding lol. 2 plants 600w 4x4 here

dont add humidity. youll be asking for mold. cannabis can grow in plains of africa, you do not need to "bump" the moisture in your room.

Yes you do. When they are in veg high himidity is good. Helps photosynthesis because the moisture in the air can help the leaves intake water without having to get it by the roots. They gri w much faster in veg with high rh but in flower I'd keep it about 30 and watch close. Maybe even 25

In flowering, allowing humidity to go below 45% is begging for powdery mildew. Above 55% and your asking for PM and bud rott.

In veg you might get away at 70% BUT if your RH drops below 45% your PM buddy will pop up overnite. Thing is PM actually needs high and low RH periods. It hates warm 50% air.

Another factor for some is taking 70% air and having it cool when light goes off. Temps drop and dew point is hit then bam it's raining.

Unless your a clone with no roots you should stay at 45 - 55 % and foliar feeding is not required imo.

Its dry as fuck here in southern Colorado, I dehumidify my ass off to stay at 50%. More than 5% either way is begging for overnite troubles.

For what its worth times I ran higher humidity in veg usually resulted in powdery mildew.

Actually clones with no roots are fine at 50% if you do it without intense light, no dome, no fan blowing on them. You can use antiwilt in lower RH. If you cut clones from a plant in 70% then put them in 50% their gonna wilt hard. If you take clones from a plant at 50% and root at 50% they don't wilt as hard and recover perkyness in 36 hours. I don't bother with domes.
