Ive already started to plan for spring as well. Getting my clones ready. Does anyone know how to NOT get bud rot. I got it last season unexpectedly so this year I want to know if I can do anything to reduce chances of getting it.

was it a wet season or had rain showers a lot where you're at? after it rained i always went out and shook the plant so the water would fall off lucky it was a pretty dry season here lol

You and me both Decepticon. I'm extremely excited about this year. Got my plans underway and chipping at getting supplies ready and stocked. I've been considering going out and doing early prep work on a few sites just to get it out of the way. A good 80% of mine will be gorilla and I was planning on a 100 plant unsexed grow. So in the end it'll be around 50 or so girls in the end at max. I know there will be casualties due to animals etc.
Purple Widow is on my to do list for sure. Not too expensive as far as seeds go and I'm just trying to figure out what to do with the rest of it. I'm pretty much wanting to max out my freebies on an order as well and probably have the freebies as a backyard project.
From the PW I was planning on seeding an awesome female with an awesome male to have a good stock for the future. Maybe end up hitting another female with C-Silver to get a batch of femmed beans as well.
My run will be mostly photo plants and vegging them indoors for a good 3 weeks to a month before they go outside at the start of the season for an awesome head start. The lights will be timed just enough to keep them in veg and I'll toss em out when the suns timing matches. I made the mistake last year of vegging them indoors under 18/6 and tossing them outdoors. Lesson learned lol.
What I'm shooting for is an extremely long veg time pretty much and big harvest in the end.
One of the main question I've been thinking about is if I could LST a gorilla grow that I would only be checking on once a week? Like would it be okay to leave them tied down and walk away for 7 days at a time and modify them on returning? I was planning on just letting them fly when they went into flower.

i got the crop started now for seeds and ones to use for a spring crop
Yeah I took a look through your winter bean crop thread. Wish I could have done that already. This next run will more than likely fund an indoor set up so I can get some projects like that going. That's how I'm doing things anyways. It gives me motivation to get out and do it right
I've been looking at building cloners as well and probably going to get my feet wet with that when the time rolls around to replace males.

I'm reviewing all those things I did wrong last season :) I had some root rot that was the result of smart pots sitting on soggy ground. I'll remey that with drain rock under them. Also paying more attention to the finish times of my strains. Last year I f*cked up by planting some haze varieites that never did finish off befor the season ended. 8 week strains or faster only this year.

Started growing out a few mothers for clones for my outdoor already. Probebly jumping the gun a bit, but I want to be ready. I have a tremendous amount of good quality seeds to choose from, so I'm winnowing my choices down to the faster flowering varieties, and leaving the longer winded strains for indoor only.

So far for my lineup I have:
Super Lemon Haze ( a 54 day strain )
Buddha Tahoe Kush
Critical
Chronic
a Blue dream x og kush cross

Thats just a preliminary list, subject to change without notice :)

I also have a clone of the Girl Scout Cookies, but I am not sure of the finishing time on that one so its still on the maybe list.

Also have, but am not sure of suitability for outdoors in my area yet:
Alaskan Thunder F*ck
Skywalker OG
Vanilla Kush
Sleestack x skunk
Fruit Spirit
Romulan

Decisions, decisions.....

Clearing more land and eliminating shade trees to expand my grow area, battling the poison oak as well. Am also waiting for my local hydro store to get the soil mix in that I am going to use. Its a premix which is something I never used befor ( VermiGreen). I've always mixed my own befor using a compost/worm castings mix for a base that I got from the local worm farm that was cheaper, but after including the cost of trucking it in and adding my own stuff, not a real big difference in price. I like to get the prep work done a couple of months befor planting season so as to let the soil cook down properly and to just have it over and done with.

Also need to run more deer fencing, not that I had much trouble last year, but precautions are better than being unprepared for them.

Oh well, onward and upward....

Some say GS finishing time, 8 - 11 weeks.

tbh i think i did extremely good for my first outside grow only problem i ran into was moles ate at the bottom of the main stock and i found out buckets suck compared to a plant thats in the ground lol the only thing a bucket would be good for is an auto strain

ive also been wondering if i should run all different fem seeds i saved up in the back yard or order a 10 pack of 1 strain and do them but either way imma need a bunch of containers lol

I found that the less UV rays from our sun I have the better it is for my plants as long as my PH is between 5. 6.5 for out door plants, I am getting use to the idea that morning sunlight is all a plant needs and this does not include UV rays that will bring way to much strain on the plants.
