Hi all...I planted some hydrangeas last year, one got pretty good sized. Unfortunately they aren't showing any signs of coming back. Any ideas are much appreciated!

Where do you live? It's a little early but if you want to check for signs of life scrape the stem with a finger nail. If it's green you're in good shape. If not you may have lost your plant. What I do with mop head Hydrangea this time of year is I wait till the leaf buds that are emerging are about an inch long. Then I prune the wood back to those fat, vigorous buds pruning out buds that are weak and puny. Gardeners love those sky blue mop heads. You can have that gorgeous blue color if your soil is acid enough. For the bluest of blues add Sulpher to your soil in fall and shoot for a ph of around 4.5

I did feed with Miracid last year, they did quite well. I don't know if the winter just kicked their asses or what LOL...thank you for the tip! I did spy some green still there and a few leaves pushing out near the base of two of them. Two of them are Nikko blue and the last one is a pink bloomer that's supposed to bloom all season. Since I only just started them last year, I haven't had any blooms to speak of on the blue ones. Thanks so much for the advice!

no, just where you asked me about the hydrated or dolomite lime.
