Hydro clone questions

Hey guys I've been posting quite a few threads on here asking alot of questions so I apologize if I'm 'over doing it', but I have a few more questions if anyone is willing to spend the time to help.

First of I need to tell use that I am really horrible at taking clones and getting them to root, I have only found one technique that gives me 100% rooted clones. All I do is cut the clones on a 45 degree angle, split the bottom of the clone and scrap the bottom 1/2 inch of the stalk, than I just put it in a glass of water and bang it in my clone box. I get a 100% success rate with this but the problem is I'm growing hydro now (ebb and flow) and I want to use rockwool for the medium. So my question is would it be ok get the clones rooted in the cups of water and than place them into the rockwool cubes and start them in the ebb and flow? Or will putting the already rooted clones into the rockwool cubes restrict the roots and stunt the growth??

look right above your post in this thread this is my way for cheap 95 to 100% success. now if you are wanting to clone in rockwool i would not suggest it, it is very hard to do for a beginner. rapid rooters are the way to go.

Ok had a look, but wat was I meant to be looking for? I already know how to clone my mothers, so the next step I'm asking is how do I transplant them to the ebb and flow system? Should I try place them in rockwool or place them in cley pellets or something else? The cloning part isn't the issue, I need to know once there rooted how to transplant them and into wat type of medium??

skip the Rockwool go straight into cley pellets, but beware you may have issues with over feeding them when the first start so just becarefull. But I moved to just puting clones in root riot cubes with ph 5.8 and some superthrive and have no issues moving those over to my coolers.

o i didnt understand your ? thats all your choice i like to go to RW then veg them in my tray in just the RW then when they go to flower i use 6x6x7 pots with hydroton just my way

Ive seen great results with RW but I use a rapid rooter when I do cloning with medium,
most the time I us a EZC

I split my rockwool down the middle and make a sandwich between the stalk so that it is on the inside and it is mainlky there for support while it is in the hydroton. I love fishing the split rockwool after harvesting when the root ball has split the wool into 100 different sizes.

you should be fine putting them into RW. I had a ez cloner i made and was taking the rooted clones and putting them into rw plugs( they are like 1 1/2" round and about the same height but split half way) so you can open them and put a bearly rooted cutting in and in just a day or two the roots pop out. worked great til i tried rapid rooters now i just use those

Thanx guys got a few helpful tips of all of use. Just to clear things up a bit, i can take my clones out of the glasses of water (once rooted) and place them in a rockwool cube which has been split open to accommodate for the roots, and this can go straight into the ebb and flow system and will survive?

Also how long after roots have developed would use recommend starting them on nutes?? I no to start them of at 1/4 the strength and build up to full strength, but wen would it be a good time to start them on it? I was thinking to give them a week to get over the initial shock and than start them of, is this ok??

yes you can tranplant that way. as for nutes I would give a few days after the tranplant to add nutes.
then use a light feeding like 200-300ppm and a PH of 5.8

Hey indefinately i am planning on starting a journel but not for another month or two so wen im ready to start ill send u the link for sure. It is true that there are plenty of people on here willing to help, but there is also those quick to judge and negative people that are always there to call you out so i try to apologise in advance so people dont feel the need to talk down on me, see i had a few people in the soil forums talk down on me for asking questions and posting threads where i wasnt welcome. Ive had a great experience so far over in this hydro forum and ive learnt heaps in just a few days.
