Hydro-ebb and flow- Rapid rising PH!

Hello all, first time grower. I've got 10 clones in their third week of flower. Everything is going great aside from the PH skyrocketing from 5.8 to 7-7.5 overnight. Roots look good, and they're all happy, still getting some pretty big growth spurts.

Temps are good all around, res is kept cool. I empty, clean, and refill it weekly. I've noticed when I'm PHing/mixing nutes that the FF big bloom lowers PH, could the plants eating nutes be contributing to the rising PH?

Your nutes drop you PH drastically for a day or 2. Beyond that they tend to climb back up so because you've added ph up to get to a decent ph the ph seems to rise quickly for a couple of days.

It's good you want to keep a clean fresh res, but try flushing every other week. Your ph will stay more stable.

Also if you have algae on rockwool cubes or anywhere in your grow it will cause your ph to rise.

I just keep my bottle of ph down nearby.

Ahh cool, I did notice it get especially bad after the latest res change. I do have algae growing on the tops of the cubes, should I add a mild dose of h202 to see if that helps stabilize things?

When I grow in rockwool I don't add h2o2. A lot of people do, but I don't really much concern about root rot in Rockwool so I pass on it. Won't help to stabilize the ph.

The best you can really do is to try to keep on top of it.
