hydrohut 2x4-sufficient ventilation?

So, I assembled the hut. Seems sturdy. I need to go to the hydro store and by a fan to vent my light. I don't have the light yet though and I went full circle, HPS to T5s to LEDs to HPS. So, HPS it is, I think. My plan is to use a 400 watt lumatek. My question relates to venting the hood I buy.

It looks like I will have to buy a 6'' fan as the hoods I have looked at do not come in 4''. The temp of the outdoor room will be between 68-78 degrees. I plan to buy a switch to adjust the fan. Any idea how may CFMs should do it? Also, I HATE noise so any suggestions re: very quiet fans would be useful.

There seems to be some dispute on here as to whether or not you could attach a filter at the end of the vent tube.

So some people go: filter then cool tube then sucking fan.

Others would NEVER have the filter on the same line as the coo tube. Rather, they have a dedicated fan that only works with the coo tube with no grow room air ever coming in contact with that flow. Then, a separate fan for the filter.

I would love to have an all in one solution. I suppose the two fan system would be the best if you had heat problems only using the fan/filter/cool tube combo. I think I will try that first and see if temp is an issue for me

I went with 2 fans for my 4x4 1000w, 309+cfm for the hood 450cfm for the tent/carbon. Fan's suck at the end of their respective lines in a 2nd room. I couldn't of done it with a 8" hood and fan because my socks are barely 6" and smaller ducting really reduces cfm. I also had some other narrow spaces to deal with and had the 309cfm fan already. But in a perfect world I would rather run 1 large fan and 1 run of ducting and use the extra money to buy a backup large fan.

hey u can get a y splitter for ducting so u can have to line's coming off of one fan. check out ducting at a hydo store on-line and u will see what i mean u can also get reducers to go with bigger or smaller duct then what size of fan u have

Two lines off one fan. I like the sound of that. So, I could have the cool tube vented with outside air going to outside air but on the out side of the cool tube I could put a splitter and attach ducting and a filter and then have the fan pulling all that out.
