Hydroponics Concerns for Growers

Hello,

I've done a lot of research and was thinking of starting a hydroponics garden.

I would like to know, from more experienced growers, what your main concerns are with hydroponics and the companies that manufacture nutrient solutions? Is there any main thing that you expect from them?

Sorry for the stupid question, I am just really curious about these issues before I move forward with this.

Thanks! :)

I use flora series by general hydroponics. Its a 3 part formula. I also use a flavor enhancer (sweet raw). Thats all I use and it works fine.

I grow deep water cultures in 5 gallon buckets with net cups that fit perfectly over the buckets. My biggest issue with running a DWC is that its kinda a pain to refill the buckets if you are scrogging.

Dynagro Foliage Pro, Grow, or All Pro. Hands down the easiest thing to use in hydro. Add in some Protekt if you want.

Try to keep organic things out of your feeding schedule if you are going the hydroponic route (DWC, RWDC, aero etc). These are things like sea kelps and humics. Bad Microbes like to feed on organic matter. If you insist on adding organic additives, you must ensure your water temps stay below 75F (68F is ideal) or you'll be in big trouble!

Good luck, grow big!

High res temps and root rot are your main concerns when doing dcw or ebb and flow. Get a chiller and use something like hydro guard.
