I have been looking for the broadest spread of light and I have about 7.5 ft ceilings. Looking to move towards SCROG. I need more than a few lights for mainly flower. I currently have Hydrofarm 8" HPS 1000 watts with air vents.
This dude built a gold plated grow with Cyclotops Greenbeams, a LEC fixture that has a special geometry reflector. Eventually when he dialed it in, the plants took off. Like the Sun LEC fixture the LEC bulb points down. The dude must have spent a mint.

I was talking to a guy with professional grow, dispensary and other MMJ businesses. He said go with parabolics with 1000 watt HPS and digital ballasts. He said great light spread and claimed he could pull two pounds per light with essentially a $200-240 set up.. He said the vertical (pointing down) light is much cooler than horizontal. I recall some people here with monster grows hanging vertical light tubes and that mega grow in Canada (?).
So I am thinking this reflector $44.05

So I have a LEC for about $292. I asked Growers House and they said it would work. I may want to look around for a silver/alum parabolic fixture. This one is white. Obviously, I would buy one and test it.

Sun about $450
Or a Phantom for about $382 - Phantom does point the bulb down too.

Also looking to add Light Rails. Anyone have any luck with cheaper brands versus Light Rail 3.5?
