I get bored growing the same strain every year

I see a ton of folks here that stick to the same couple of strains every grow.

I just can't smoke the same strain year after year. I get bored of the taste and the high.

I have not grown the same strain 2 years in a row ever.

Last year was mimosa and wedding cake.

Year before that was BC big bud

This year is white widow, forbidden fruit, forbidden fruit cake, and dream berry.

Do you grow the same strains over and over? Or is having something different each year your style?

I have gone with something different each round. Though I have taken clones & finished them in previous grows.. they were always running at the same time. This round.. the plant I flipped to flower first is a revegged clone. The mom was a small plant for some reason. I got to know her better with the clone. Now it's in the process of filling a 4x4 tent. I have cuts of everything from last run. They will each be vegging & waiting on a flower space to open up for them. I have something else going as well. Been popping seeds periodically, and tossing them in the 3x5. Also have a 27"x27" tent with 2 clones & a single seed planted in there. I like a little variety as well.

My goal is to find a couple plants that are consistant for keepers, then run other strains for fun or to mix it up.
Ya man. It's nice knowing what you're getting then a surprise for the others. If they're shit, or not to your liking then no harm no foul.... Still got enough of something you like to get you by, then make concentrate/edibles with what you don't like or give it away to someone who needs it.
I use alot of that herb for trying new processing methods. If I screw up I'm not gona be too angry about it.

Wiz!
There's some strains I grow I just can't get enough of .... They're always the first empty jars. That's how I know it's a keeper. If I WANT to smoke it over any of the others. I'll grow those ones almost everytime or every other time but sometimes a few can slip between the cracks so to say for a season then revisited the next.

I'm still new to this at just over 5 years so I'm still in the wanna try them all phase. There's too many strains and we can only grow 4 at a time but I do have some I repeat as they have shown really good medicinal properties for either me or my wife. I just started cloning this year so I think that will add to more repeat grows as I find and keep more mother's at my buddies grow. I do get bored of smoking the same strain after a big harvest though, 6-9 months of the same flavor gets boring.

Forbidden fruit is so freaking good bud. Not strong but the taste is crazy.

Different strains every grow. I don't keep mothers and I don't grow from clone. I have enough seeds of different strains and crosses I've made to grow multiple different strains every grow for years and that's what I plan on doing. I don't care how good something is I'm not saving it except in seed form. I'm not concerned about any specific pheno and I don't believe you have to go through dozens and dozens of plants to find a keeper like many do. I don't want a keeper anyway. I want variety.

Growing the same thing over and over again is just plain boring. There is no strain good enough that I'm going to bother keeping it around as a mother. Something as good or better is always just a seed away.

Would be sweet to have a group of trustworthy growers where each has one or two personal selections to keep for trading.
I've got a buddy and we swap strains after each run. We're allowed to legally donate up to an ounce per person so you can mix up a couple different strains you grew and trade them with each other. It makes it nice because if he gives me something I really like I can always grab some seeds and give it a try. You're not gonna get the exact same thing with different phenos and growing conditions but it's close enough. It would be great to have a network of people but it's the "trustworthy" part that gets tricky in today's world unfortunately.

I do grow some a 2nd or even 3rd time. If I find something I love, I will for sure grow her again and Do-Si-Dos is on its 3rd try right now. I have also grown once before Gorilla Zkittlez, Blue Cheese, Northern Lights clone, and Cinderella 99 outside right now. Cinderella 99 I absolutely love from my first try and trying to find the breeder of that, or something very close. Tried Female Seeds version C99, and they airy and weak. This try is from a Canuk Seeds and from the pics online, seems to have a more firm/solid bud structure like the sample I had.
