i went to the pipe shop to sell some glass. while there my wife and i were looking around shooting the shit with the owner. he was talking about heady pieces that have sat on his shelf for 2 years. i glanced over at what he was talking about and this pipe just jumped out at my eye. he took it out and showed it to me and i just had to have it. i was willing to pay cash but then remembered i had a case of pipes with me. i asked if he wanted to do a trade and he said sure. i told him to go ahead and pick out equal value glass from my case. to my surprise he only took one sherlock. it was a really cool one, but i never expected it to be valued at what it is. it was a win win for all of us. :blsmoke:

i always thought glass "collectors" were a little weird. people paying huge dollars for a simple pipe. but since i started blowing glass myself i have gained a huge appreciation for other artists and what it is they are actually doing. some try to hide their "tricks" in fear it will spoil the "illusion". i find it even more amazing now that i know how it's done. some of the "techniques" are pretty basic, but to be able to pull them off with the consistency and cleanliness that some people do is really hard. this one will go on my shelf. :mrgreen:

Yeah if I was at a shop I would expect the one you got to be slightly more expensive but honestly I like yours a lot more if I was going to buy one I would definately go for yours. The other one is good work but I don't like the colors that much. For 80$ I bought the best bubbler I ever owned in my life. It was on sale I would have expected to pay 150 or 200$ for it. It was probably like a foot long double thick with the most beautiful colors I ever saw. All I remember was it was like a granite coloring on the stem and the rest was a pink and blue twisted flannel patterning or something.

My bro came over the first week I had it and broke it inside the bowl. I guess all that thick glass yet thin glass right in the bowl. Now that i think of it I probably could've got it fixed but I trashed it a few months ago:( Anyways, the pipe I got now I bought from the gas station for like 13$ and it's the first true color changing pipe I've ever owned. it's awesome it starts clear and the resin turns it purple and green. What the hell here's a pic. The bowl is too small, the carb is too close to the bowl and it's not completely smooth but best 13$ peice I've ever seen. BTW you ever read my shit in your free glass thread? :mrgreen:

my prices will stay as reasonably low as i can keep them. it's shipping costs that are getting me. anywhere from 5 to 10 dollars depending on where it goes. plus boxes are $1.50, adding in popcorn and labels... it doesn't sound like much, but it adds up.

Hey FDD, I like your new pipe! Just to let you know I have an entire garbage bag full of penuts and all the boxes you sent the glass in for me still. When I get back home I could break down the boxes and send it back to you and you could reuse them, if you like. TTYL Bud! :weed:
