Thrips?
Does the damage look "silvery" Then I would say you should look around on the leaves, top and bottom for thrip larvae.

Thrips for sure, insecticidal soaps and horticultural oils, put aluminum foil around the base of the plant, disorientates thrips when they try to lay eggs. Plants might be to dry.
