I know this goes against every rule, BUT...

Ok so, my plant is 2 weeks give or take away from being harvested, I am out of weed, am itching for just a bowl of some good smoke...

I clipped off a small branch of buds, tried smoking it... wont light worth a damn...

Ive heard of people smoking bud right off the plant... I know its stupid to do this (after all whats the point of growing it if your not going to let it get to its full potential).

but anyways, if theres anyway to do this please let me know quick.

btw, I would put it on my ballast if I had one, but I am using a bunch of CFL's

Thank you.

oven @170 for 10 mintues, flip, 7 mintues.
microwave in tupperware container, dry paper towel on bottom, weed, moist paper towel stretched over top of container, lid sealed on 3 of 4 corners. nuke on medium in 1 minute increments till dry.

you want to hang it for a few days. it won't burn (light up) and you really wont.get high

you could bake it at lowest oven setting for a couple hours or so. dont make it a habbit man, you wont have good stuff in the end. also just cutting it and leaving it under your cfls should take a day or 2. its just not worth it, smoke some leaves to get you through the itch.

Clip some smaller nugs off the branch and stuff them in a cfl for about half an hour to an hour. Larger cfl's like 40w actual will be faster, 20 somethings slower.

hrmm, do both those? seems like a bit of over kill, and for the microwave bit, do you put the weed in the tupperware or outside of it?

dry ur buds in the oven if u dont have time to let it cure, its very unlikely that u can smoke a bud fresh off the plant unless its severly underwatered and dried some already and even then it wont burn very well

errr, i guess everyone else beat me to it while i was still typing....i wouldnt of repeated what they said but they hadnt posted yet when i went to reply

oh shit thats right! haha everytime a leaf gets stuck in my CFL's they dry up REAL quick, but wont that like... burn the THC also?

Cfl's burn at the ideal temp to quick dry a few nugs safely without burning off the thc, they're under 200f.

Just don't leave them for hours because they'll get so dry they'll crumble into dust.

haha excellent av indeed. i bet they like them too. most animals go crazy for a nibble on a cannabis leaf. (like my first grow attempt back in middle school when my cats got at my grow area and ate all the fuckin plants)

but ontopic: wait it out it's much more worth it. otherwise ask a friend to spot you some til you harvest

Gotta love it. Seems like just about every animal likes weed in some form or another. My cat comes running when she hears the bong goin for some reason

FYI Marijuana Leaves (just the leaves for some reason) are toxic to rabbits. I once had a rabbit who went paralyzed cause i fed him all my scraps. Look it up. I dont feel bad. Gives them a little seasoning before i eat em!

I never would've guessed, wow! I'd feel bad if someone was unintentionally poisoning their pets, but hey, you gotta look shit up, right?

I dunno, rabbits are adorable little fuckers. Me and my friend's rabbit share carrots all the time

I’ve been there. I think that at some point everyone who grows has been there. So we pick a bud, usually a few smaller ones that are not amounting to much and let the best finish and then give it a go.

Well the problems are until dried, and then even curing, marijuana is not potent just after harvest. Some of the THC is in a non-psychoactive acidic form. Drying marijuana the right way will convert the non-psychoactive acidic compounds into psychoactive THC. So what we get may be a buzz but it will not be truly representative of what the final outcome will be if the harvest is properly dried and properly cured.

Another part of the problem is that temperatures over 80 degrees degrade THC so if you dry your just picked bud(s) in the oven or microwave you degrade THC that is already not at its most potent level.

Something I have done is to take a blow dryer on a lower temperature setting and clip something like a pair of hemostats to the stem end to hold it and keep it from blowing away and with lower temps less if any of the already lower potency THC is lost but with the fast constant passage of air over the bud it dries out fairly fast and will then burn.

Of course any quick drying causes a more harsh taste so there is still a tradeoff to be made, beyond that of just lower potency of THC, but then some buzz even with a harsh taste can be better than no buzz at all so I have done it and most of not all of us have done it and it will keep happening like that with people for as long as people grow.

Toward the end of my first grow, I researched this a little. There are a couple reasons one might want to sample the bud before it's done. You can get a preview. You can experiment with different harvesting times to see which timing gives you the most desirable high, or leave it till it looks like Carrot Top and fuse with the couch.

I like to vaporize. Just by drying it a little in the microwave (two or three 30-second bursts on DEFROST) and placing it into the vape chamber, I can sample my future crop. It works gigglingly well. When you stone yourself out on your first early buds, you'll feel like you've finally arrived. It deserves a small celebration because, well, you have.

Hey hey! Easy does it! Don't get carried away now. Just remember it won't be cured, so you'll taste the chlorophyll (a bit yucky) and other compounds that need to process first. If you're vaporizorless, even if you crisp it on a warm skillet until it's dry enough to ignite, it will stone you but won't taste any better. You could grind it up and roll one, or mix it with a cig; either way there'll be that taste. The only solution to that is to properly dry and cure your grass before trying to seriously enjoy it or use it to medicate your bad self.

But shit, if you're jonesing, go grab a ping pong ball sized chunk and catch the worst-tasting, most sweetly cerebral high ever. Probably good to do this once per crop, just on principle. Heh.
