Its been awhile since I read (dxm, need I explain more) anyways I quit all my dumb shit and almost forgot about my favorite hobby! I have always liked fantasies.. Not normal fantasies obviously.. But like I LOVED 'Still Life With Woodpeckers' 'The Giver'.. Stuff like that..

Also I love non fiction too, but most of thats about intoxication.. I have plenty of books on it.
So if your gonna suggest something Id love to hear your guys' favorite fictional quirky stories that made you think a little differently when you were done :p

Thanks! :joint:

John Steinbeck...Tortilla Flats, Cannery Row

Two of my favorites right there...Just make sure you pick them up along with another book, becaue you'll blow through these in a few hours, couple days max.

If you like Sci-Fi at all, Dan Simmons "Hyperion" series is pretty mind blowing...

I've been getting into the Orion's Arm Universe Project. It's this internet cooperative hard scifi "thinggum" (new favorite word).
http://www.orionsarm.com/

The best description I've heard of the project is
http://www.boingboing.net/2005/08/17/orions-arm-cclicense.html
Orion's Arm is a Creative Commons-licensed hard sf/post-Singularity shared world where lots of fan writers are collaborating to build a world and then write stories in it. There also seems to be some RPG adaptation activity and illustration. The storyline is a pretty thoroughgoing post-Singularity thinggum with lots of opportunity for fun noodling.
I have yet to read a translated copy of Stanisław Lem's work that I didn't enjoy.

I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream is also a great book. The adventure game was great, I loved the different endings.

There's mark twain books, fear and loathing, or on the road by jack kerouac. Those are just off the top of my head... I will come back with good titles, ha.

Children of the night - Dan Simmons. If I describe the book it will ruin it. About vampirism but not the cliche vampire twilight bullshit.
