k so i just ordered a 6 plant drip kit today and need to know some general info.
first off, when i have plants in it and its all up and running should i have the water pump running constantly or should i have it set on a timer?

second, and im just kinda realizing why it wouldnt, but could i split it down the middle and have 3 for flowering on one side and 3 for veging on the other? but i guess im just going to answer my own question here, i would only have the ability to use one kind of nutrients at a time... so nevermind on that one.

Some people use a constant drip some use timers and feed for 15 min. 3 or 4 times a day........I use a constant drip..........that works for me but it really depends on how you want to do it.........

it should depend on the medium you are using. VV

to answer the question about splitting them for flower and veg. This is not a recommended plan, because you need different nutes for flower than in veg. You probably need a separate rez and drip for each.

As far as the drip goes, i use coco and i think its similar to rockwool in that it holds a lot of water. So i think if its a small drip you could leave it on for a while. But mine shoots out from a strong pump, and i feed once a day for 1 minute to my moms, just to keep em going.

If that isthe medium you want to use why wouldn't you just use flood and drain? You may have to water the cube for the first day or two until the roots get down into the clay pellets. I think potroast would recommend 4 or more watering a day, 10 minutes each, more in the later stages. You would want to have a 'loop' style dripper that 'rings' the plant. Clay pellets will not force water sideways very far, it will get lots of oxygen down to the roots. Do not let your water hit the cube once the roots are down into the clay. VV

I run a Mixture of coco and expanded clay... (The expanded clay in the bottom for better drainage, a layer on top to disperse the feed of water more evenly.) I find this pretty easy to work with and then i only water for 1 minute per day using a feeder ring and when they are flowering i usually have to switch to 2 min. The easiest way to tell is to water until it starts to drain out the bottom then you know its enough. Good luck mate!!!
