Hey all,
I just brought an outdoor plant indoors cuz it's been veggin for over 2 n a half months outside n light has been horrible.. It's only a foot tall, and it's on it's 9th node right now, pistils are already on 3 nodes(grown from seed), and it's on a 24 hour light cycle, how can I get my plant to stretch up a little bit with cfls within a week or two?? I really want it to get some height, it's pretty bulky, but short.. If I cut light down to 16/8 would it get taller? Any help please.. ++rep

You really want it to stretch? Move the light a good distance away from it. Remember when it goes to flower it will shoot up 1-2 feet depending on variety. But if you want oit stretch make it reach for the light and move it away.

If I move cfls away tho, won't they lose too many lumens? Someone advised switching to 18/6 or 16/8 and it would stretch during dark.. Would u second that opinion? Or still stick with just moving them higher? They are about 3 inches from the plant now, what should I change it to?

Try moving them to 6 or more inches away. It is going to get less lumens but it is also going to stretch. More dark should make it shout up too. I left some seedlings in the dark for two days while I was gone and they doubled in height. Good luck!
