Im harvesting for the first time and im coming up to the end of the plants life. maybe some pics can help, shes getting really stinky and is really frosty. Does ne one know how long I have to hang them for when they dry? and when thats done what then? is that it? when will it be smokeable?

mate when i harvest i trim all the major fan leaves off and let the plant continue flowering for a day or two ,then i turn the lights out for approximatley 24-36 hours before i chop them down. When i chop i cut the base of the stem right off and leave the roots in the soil ---(no need for them now,and they will just add to your drying time)

let them buds dry out until there is only about 10%water left in the stems........when the stem is dry it will SNAP when you bend it

then and only then is it ready for the cure etc:wink:

hope this helps you out my friend

kiss-ass<...lol only kidding

You can harvest the entire plant and then trim. I think it's probably much more efficient that way. Remember, a lot of that trim is still going to have some THC in it, and you don't want to just throw that out, do you? You can vaporize that product, or use it to make hash or edibles.

No i do not want to throw that all away! it will most likely be dried with the rest and smoked in a white guy! yea i think i will chopp the whole crop then trim and dry upside down. thats what the most posts ive been reading say. I just had 2 questions that i need answered asap; when do i stop giving her nutes???? And when do i stop watering her???

She's DAMN close, so I'd say stop fertilizing now, just water until you think she's hit the sweet spot. I don't know how often you water, for me it depends on the weather and if it's not too warm my girls go about three days in between with no trouble or wilting. I wouldn't recommend stopping watering because to my mind that will start killing the plant and that seems like it would lead to tissue degradation.

I'd treat it like I would a pig or chicken or fish I'm going to kill--stop feeding for a couple of days, but don't do anything that will make it unhealthy. I'd water til she's ready to go, in other words.

ok so i just fed her nutes today, i feed her about every 2-3 days depending on her soil moisture level. I will stop giving her nutes but should i stop watering her all together now??? im going to trim some of the fan leaves in about 1 hour.. some of them are yellow due to overnuting im sure.....those arent good to smoke right? i think by the end of this week hopefully she will be done and ready to chop since her trichs are getting pretty cloudy.

I don't smoke yellow leaves, yellow means unhealthy (usually mobile nutrient is gone, nitrogen, along with I don't know what else). I'd continue watering her as normal, and when you get to the point where you say, "This is it! I'm gonna cut her down!" then I'd let her go a day or two, no water, and do the deed. However, I cannot say factually that it's better to not water at all versus watering normally. I just see no harm in watering normally and then withholding the last day or two (so as not to force it to wilt) so you don't waste the water.

I actually wash out and re-use Ziploc baggies, I am that bad about "don't waste!".

i am taking it that you had a few problems with that lady during her life???!!! she is looking a bit sorry for herself if you dont mind me saying;-)... but nonethe less she has pulled through for you.:-P.

usaully stop watering 48-60 hrs before u chop em down, simply because you want your plant to use up as much moisture(water)as she can,,,,becuse when she is chopped down she wont need any water to continue her life-so why give her her up to the end?(b4 u chop)this is only going to add to your drying time ;-),and wont affect the plant in any way-she will just yhink she is having a bit of a dry spell...:-P
