I Totally Fucked My San Pedro Tea.

In my last few post i was talking about getting done with the tea. i either over boiled[high temps] or i didn't boil out enough of the liquid. [After 20 inches, i had 20oz of liquid] i should have boiled that down but i didnt. i drank half and absolutely no effect what so ever.
so this time i have a 15 inch cutting of a much darker san pedro. And this time i happened to grab another 20 inches, so i'm able to save about 4 inches off the top to save this specimen!
I'M NEVER MAKING TEA AGAIN. I mean, to all my fucking stupidity, i should have done a few things different but i still have no idea what i did wrong.
So this time i'm chopping it up grinding it down in a dry dark room, away from sun. When its dry i'll crush it down and encapsulate. Right?...:dunce:

Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you, dude. How did you go about making the tea? Did you do multiple pulls? Did you dice the cactus and mash the pulp periodically? How long did you cook it?

I started by dicing into cubumber-like chunks. blended it with my awesome 8 speed blender, and put it in the spaghetti pot. brought it up slowly for about an hour. after it changed texture i lightly simmered it for about 5 hours, strained and consumed. At times i fell asleep and it got a little warmer then i wanted. this had to be where I screwed up.

Last time i wanted to do that i was intrested in extracting DMT.
Cost hundreds of dollors in other chemicals, even MORE potential to fuck up.
Is it different for mescaline?

And did you use some sort of fabric for straining? That can absorb a lot of the alkaloids too. Thanks a mill. +rep. But i'd REALLY like to avoid more tea. The taste was awful and full of disappointment. i don't want to screw it up again and drinkthe unusable goop thinking im going to have a spiritual experience to remember.

I'm frantically googling for a good capsluate method. Do you know of one on hand i could follow?[If all else fails ill make the tea..]

EDIT: WOA, EFF THAT METHOD. it says boil at 230??? mescaline evaporates at 180degrees! right?
 
I've never capped cactus, but that will be a HELL of a lot of gelatin and cactus material in your gut. You're asking for some serious tummy troubles if you ask me. The point of the tea is to consume the smallest amount of cactus flesh possible with the highest amount of concentrated alkaloids. Stick with the tea or do an extraction. ANC has posted his method on RIU somewhere.

No, No 180F isnt even boiling.
 
I`ll answer your PM here. I`ve done this method step by step with great success. And don`t worry about evapping your mesc. The melting point for mescaline is around 360F (180C). You won`t get anywhere near that temperature on your stovetop.

okay. there was a site that gave me some incorrect info. they prob made a typo because they mention 180degrees with the farehieght symbol. thx again for all the help!
 
Lol dude you could extract DMT for like $20. same for mescaline
As long as you don't boil it to high it should be fine though, ie. it should steam, but no bubbles.
Cacti are very variable, but expect to have a few misses and all is good. To extract you will need a jar of xylene from the hardware store. and a few drops of hydrocloric pool acid, oh and some citric acid from the bakeing section, or at least some large limes. If you want to further seperate the other alkaloids from the mescaline also get some acetone.
 
Thanks for chiming in ANC. And just to clarify the melting point of Mescaline, the numbers I posted ans you see posted all over the net are the melting points of extracted salts. Not the raw mesc in the cactus. There was a good discussion long ago @ DMT Nexus but with no definitive answer. The highest point I hit while making the tea was about 210-215F (99-102C) using a deep fryer thermometer with no adverse effects.

well can i have thelinks for both of those? lol im nuts for dmt, i have never tried but would love to. im just not 100$ want to. lol
and a 20$ mesciline extraction? dude im going to buy the supplies now. link me up i have some Bridgesii in the mail!

ah see. this is what sux. i have no temp control as i have an gas stove. and isnt boiling 230+? whatever tho. im still gonna try once more. before i do ill Google fruitlessly and study this. i thought i had it but this is becoming retardedly complicated -.- i think im thinking too much about it haha. its the weed.
 
Boiling point of water is 212F I believe. I think in metric most of the time lol I'm Canadian. And actually that's a bonus that you have a gas range. They are much more efficient at maintaining constant temperatures than electrical elements.

Don't overthink things. It must be the ganj :lol: It's all pretty simple, just take it one step at a time.

Edit: Oh, and the deep fryer thermometer is only a few bucks at the grocery store that clips to the rim of the pot. It's really for peace of mind, though. Like I said, with normal stovetops the temps won't go much over boiling point anyway. In the link Irishlion stresses the temps because he uses an actual deepfryer which is capable of much higher temps.
 
awesome. well thx for the tip on the thermom! +rep gonna go get one. like you said, for peace of mind. i just want to get the maximum and no degradation. You've made me feel a lil better about trying this again. lol.

Think i could follow his method BUT boil it down to about 3 or four large shots? just a thought because..well you already know. that shit is aweful lol
 
Awful can't even describe it :lol: You can reduce it down to pretty much whatever you want. Just be very careful when you get down to a pint or so. Keep stirring at that point. Definitely don't want to burn it so close to the end! I ended up with about a half pint. Was NOT easy to get down. But well worth slinging that snot down the hatch when the trip came up ;)
 
i just have a question. do you still retain some self control? i mean im around my mother who knows what im doing. but i could do shrooms in front of her and shed never know. What is it like initially?
 
You absolutely have control. It can be guided with ease. Easier than say, shrooms, for sure. Don't worry about being off your rocker, bro. It's a nice earthy easy going trip. So hard to explain :lol:
